Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CaseSearch ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website or use our legal research product. We aim to be plain and honest about what we do with data.
Information we collect
When you create an account we collect your email address and a verification code we send to confirm it. If you contact us, we collect your name, email, and message. We also collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the page that referred you, along with any UTM parameters in the link you arrived from.
Your research questions
We use the questions you research to run your searches and improve your own experience. We do not sell your research questions, and we do not use your queries to build a product for someone else. Your research is yours.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and confirm your email.
- To run your research and send you product communications about your access.
- To respond to your messages and provide support.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the site and product (for example, email delivery and analytics), under contracts that require them to protect it, or where required by law.
Data retention
We keep account and contact information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit over SSL and access controls. Enterprise plans add SSO and additional access controls for firms that need them.
Advertising measurement
We advertise on Google and Microsoft Bing. When you arrive from one of our ads, we keep the ad click identifier (such as gclid or msclkid) and the campaign parameters in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days, and store them with your signup or subscription, so we know which ads lead to signups and purchases. Pages on this site load the Google Ads tag and the Microsoft Advertising UET tag, which tell Google and Microsoft when a signup or purchase happens. We send no names, email addresses, research questions or payment details to them, and we never load these tags on your private workspace pages. You can block these cookies in your browser settings.
Your choices
You can access, correct, or delete your information, and you can opt out of non-essential email at any time. To make a request, email [email protected].
Not legal advice
CaseSearch is a legal research tool, not legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Always read the full opinion and verify citations before relying on them.
