Visalaw.ai costs 220 dollars per user a month for Core and 480 dollars per user a month for Pro, both billed annually, and Enterprise is priced by quote. Core covers immigration research chat, BIA decisions, document analysis and translation, with petition and brief drafts at 150 dollars each. Pro adds ten drafts a month, which works out to about 26 dollars a draft. On an annual license that is 2,640 dollars a user a year for Core and 5,760 for Pro.

If you run an immigration practice and a Visalaw.ai demo is on your calendar, you want the number before the call and you want to know which plan fits the way your firm works. Most pages that mention Visalaw.ai still quote the January 2024 launch announcement, or say the price is not disclosed. It is disclosed. Below is what each plan costs, what it includes, the simple math that decides between Core and Pro, and what to put in writing before you sign.

Visalaw.ai pricing by plan

PlanPrice per userWhat it includesDrafting
Core$220 a month, billed annually ($2,640 a year)Research and AI chat on a curated immigration library, BIA decisions, document analysis, summarization and translation, 100 plus automations, projects and tasks, case management integration, unlimited uploads, email and chat supportPay as you go, $150 per petition or brief draft
Pro$480 a month, billed annually ($5,760 a year)Everything in Core10 petition and brief drafts a month, about $26 a draft per the vendor, plus exhibit review and in-platform editing
EnterpriseCustom quoteEverything in Pro, multiple licenses, free paralegal access, dedicated onboarding and training, priority support, team controlsVolume drafting capacity

These figures come from the vendor's own pricing page, read in October 2026, and they match a Docketwise help center article of May 19, 2026 that lists Core at 220 and Pro at 480 per user a month. A license is one per attorney or paralegal who uses the platform, so a firm where two lawyers and one paralegal all log in is buying three Core licenses, not one.

How much does Visalaw.ai cost per year?

Because both plans are billed annually, the yearly figure is the one that matters for your budget. One Core license is 2,640 dollars a year. One Pro license is 5,760 dollars a year. A three-person firm on Core pays 7,920 dollars a year; the same firm with one Pro license for the drafting attorney and two Core licenses for the others pays 11,040.

The launch price you will still see quoted elsewhere was the same 220 dollars a user a month billed annually, with a limited introductory rate of 180 for early adopters in January 2024. That introductory rate was for the first buyers; do not plan around it unless the sales rep offers it to you in writing.

Is Visalaw.ai Pro worth it over Core?

Pro is worth it as soon as you draft two petitions or briefs a month. The arithmetic is short. Pro costs 260 dollars a month more than Core. On Core, each draft costs 150 dollars pay as you go. Two drafts on Core cost 300 dollars, which is already more than the 260 dollar gap. At ten drafts a month, Core costs 220 plus 1,500, or 1,720 dollars, against 480 on Pro.

Drafts a monthCore cost a monthPro cost a monthCheaper plan
0$220$480Core
1$370$480Core
2$520$480Pro
5$970$480Pro
10$1,720$480Pro

So the question is not which plan has more features. It is how many first drafts your firm actually produces a month. A business immigration practice writing O-1, EB-1 and NIW petitions every week belongs on Pro. A family-based practice that mostly files I-130 and I-485 packages, where the forms do most of the work and the cover letter is short, may never use the drafts and is better off on Core, or on case management software alone.

What Visalaw.ai does well, and where it stops

Visalaw.ai was built for immigration lawyers, and that shows in what it is good at. The research chat answers immigration questions against a curated library and BIA decisions rather than the open web, which cuts down on confident answers about the wrong visa category. Document analysis and translation help with the foreign-language birth certificates, police clearances and affidavits that every family and humanitarian file produces. And the drafting is aimed at the documents immigration firms actually write: support letters, RFE responses, declarations and briefs.

It is not a case management system. It does not file forms with USCIS, track priority dates or run the client portal, which is why so many firms pair it with Docketwise; the integration is available on the Docketwise Pro and Advanced plans. It is also not a full federal court research platform with a citator. When your argument depends on how your circuit has read the INA since Loper Bright v. Raimondo ended Chevron deference in 2024, or on whether Wilkinson v. Garland (2024) opened a hardship finding to review in your case, you need circuit decisions with a good-law check.

What to get in writing before you sign

The vendor's own pricing page is not perfectly consistent. Its comparison table shows Core with a ten-petitions-a-month line checked, while the plan description says Core drafts are pay as you go, and its ROI calculator labels the 480 plan "Core Plus" rather than Pro. None of that is unusual for a young product, but it is exactly the kind of thing that turns into a billing dispute in month four. Ask for these in the order form:

  • The number of drafts included per license per month on your plan, and whether unused drafts roll over.
  • The per-draft price after the allowance runs out on Pro.
  • Whether paralegals need their own paid license, or get free access only on Enterprise.
  • The renewal price and the notice window for cancellation, since the license is annual.
  • Whether your uploads are used to train any model, where they are stored and how fast they are deleted when you leave.

The trial is two weeks and starts after a demo. Use it on a real matter, not a sample: run one RFE response through the drafting flow and one research question you already know the answer to, and time both.

Is there a Visalaw.ai free trial?

Yes. Visalaw.ai offers a two-week free trial, unlocked by booking a demo; there is no self-serve signup that skips the call. Plan the demo for a week when you have a petition or brief to write, so the trial runs on live work, and calendar the end date so the annual license does not start before you have decided.

Cheaper routes for each job

If your firm only needs part of what Visalaw.ai does, you can buy that part for less:

  • Forms and case tracking. Docketwise publishes Basic at 80, Pro at 100 and Advanced at 120 dollars a user a month on yearly billing, with its own AI writing assistant from Pro.
  • Agency precedent and treatises. AILALink costs 775 dollars a year at the AILA member rate and includes Kurzban's Sourcebook, the AILA practice manuals and Fastcase Premium with BIA, AAO and BALCA decisions.
  • Federal court case law. CaseSearch answers a plain-English research question with the on-point Supreme Court, circuit and state appellate decisions, the holding and a good-law signal, for 49 dollars a month or 24 billed yearly, month to month.
  • Financial exhibits. EB-5 source of funds and I-864 sponsor evidence often arrive as years of PDF bank statements; a PDF to Excel converter turns them into a spreadsheet your paralegal can trace and total instead of retyping.

Our AI for immigration lawyers comparison prices every one of these tools side by side, by the job each one does. If drafting is not your bottleneck but research is, read how a legal AI free trial works across the tools you can test without a sales call, and check every authority in a brief with our legal citation checker before it goes to the BIA or a circuit court.

The short answer

Visalaw.ai is 220 dollars a user a month on Core and 480 on Pro, billed annually. Buy Pro if you draft two or more petitions or briefs a month; buy Core if you mostly need immigration research, translation and document analysis. Get the drafts allowance and paralegal access in writing, run the two-week trial on a live matter, and buy federal court case law research separately if your practice files petitions for review.
