LexisNexis does not sell Lexis Create+ on its own at a published price. The only place a price appears is the LexisNexis online store for law firms of 1 to 3 attorneys, where Lexis Create+ is part of one plan, Lexis+ Deluxe Transactional, at $217 per attorney per month on a three year term or $289 on a one year term. The other three Lexis+ store plans (Essential, Enhanced and Professional) do not include it. Every other route to Create+, including adding it to a research plan or buying it for a larger firm, goes through a demo request.
That matters because Create+ is marketed to two very different buyers. Transactional lawyers want its clause tools, Practical Guidance templates and compliance checks. Litigators want the parts that save hours before a filing: an automated table of authorities, Bluebook formatting and a Shepard's check on every cited case. The one plan you can buy online is built for the first group. We read the Lexis Create+ product page and the LexisNexis law firm store on October 19, 2026. Here is what the money buys and what it leaves out.
Lexis Create+ pricing on the LexisNexis store
| Lexis+ store plan | 3 year term | 1 year term | Lexis Create+ | Federal cases | Brief Analysis |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $114 a month | $152 a month | No | No | Yes |
| Enhanced | $257 a month | $342 a month | No | Yes | Yes |
| Professional | $324 a month | $432 a month | No | Yes | Yes |
| Deluxe Transactional | $217 a month | $289 a month | Yes | No | No |
| Lexis+ with Protege | Pricing on request | Ask | Ask | Ask | |
Prices are per attorney per month for one jurisdiction, as the store showed them on October 19, 2026. A two year term takes 10 percent off the one year price and a three year term takes 25 percent off. The store sells to firms of 1 to 3 attorneys and sends larger firms to sales. It also notes that orders can take up to 72 hours to process, so Create+ is not an instant download even when you buy online.
How much does Lexis Create+ cost?
On published numbers, $217 a month per attorney if you commit to three years, which is $7,812 per attorney over the term, or $289 a month on a one year term, which is $3,468 for the year. Those figures buy the whole Deluxe Transactional plan, so the price also covers state statutes, Practical Guidance, LexisNexis Forms and automated templates. You cannot buy Create+ alone at a lower figure online.
If you need Create+ on top of a research plan you already have, such as Enhanced or Professional, there is no online price. The product page's only buying action is Request a demo, and the store's own FAQ points questions about Protege to 888-AT-LEXIS. Expect a quote, and ask for the per attorney add-on figure in writing, along with the renewal increase after the first term. Our LexisNexis pricing page lists every store plan and term if you want to price the research side first.
What Lexis Create+ does in Word and Outlook
LexisNexis describes Create+ as an AI drafting tool embedded in Microsoft 365. In Word it generates and revises documents with linked citations and Shepard's signals, applies Bluebook or state-specific citation formats, builds a table of authorities automatically, appends full-text copies of cited authorities, proofreads for missing citations and inconsistent definitions, converts PDFs to Word, and redacts and cleans documents before they go out. In Outlook it drafts replies, summarizes threads and attachments, builds timelines and pulls out action items. The Protege assistant sits inside it for questions and first drafts, and a document management connection lets it draft from your firm's own past work.
The Outlook side drafts the message itself. It does not handle the firm's email footer, so if partners send from inconsistent signatures and disclaimers, that is a job for an email signature manager that sets one template for every lawyer. Create+ is about the body of the document or the reply.
Is Lexis Create+ worth it for a litigator?
It depends on what else you need from the plan. The table of authorities feature alone is what many litigators are after, and one of the user quotes on the product page says exactly that. But the only plan you can buy online with Create+ in it has no federal cases and no Brief Analysis. A litigator in federal court would end up paying for Deluxe Transactional and still needing a research plan with federal case law, which on the store is Enhanced at $257 a month or Professional at $324 a month on three year terms.
Run the numbers before the demo. If you file a handful of briefs a year, the hours a table of authorities generator saves may not cover $217 a month for three years. If you file every week, they probably do, and the real question becomes whether to get Create+ through LexisNexis or a comparable tool from Thomson Reuters. We cover the Thomson Reuters version in our Westlaw Drafting Assistant pricing post, and every writing tool with a published price in our guide to the best AI for legal writing.
Lexis Create+ alternatives with a published price
| Tool | What it does | Published price | Table of authorities |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lexis Create+ | Drafting in Word and Outlook with Protege and Shepard's | In Deluxe Transactional, $217 a month on 3 years | Yes |
| BriefCatch | Editing for clarity, RealityCheck citation checker | $60 a seat a month billed annually | No |
| Clearbrief | Links facts in a brief to the record, hyperlinked citations | $300 a user a month | Ask |
| Paxton AI | Drafting from federal and 50 state case law | $499 a month or $2,999 a year | No |
| Westlaw Drafting Assistant | Table of authorities, KeyCite, WestCheck reports | None, contact sales | Yes |
| CaseSearch | Finds the on-point cases and flags whether each is still good law | $49 a month, or $24 billed yearly | No |
Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page in October 2026. BriefCatch also sells to federal agencies under contract: one Justice Department office paid $25,000 for 150 enterprise licenses for 2026 to 2027, which shows how far volume brings the per seat price down.
Where CaseSearch fits next to Create+
Create+ checks the cases you already cited. It does not tell you which cases you should have cited. That first step, finding the controlling decisions in your jurisdiction and confirming they still stand, is what CaseSearch does. You ask the question in plain English and get the on-point Supreme Court, federal circuit and state appellate decisions with their citations, a plain-language holding and a signal showing whether each one has been reversed or questioned. It costs $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, with no term and no sales call, and you can see every plan on the CaseSearch pricing page. For a transactional firm on Deluxe Transactional, which has no federal cases, it is the cheapest way to add case law research without upgrading to Professional.
Questions buyers ask about Lexis Create+
Is Lexis Create+ included in Lexis+?
Only in one plan you can buy online. On the LexisNexis law firm store, Create+ is part of Lexis+ Deluxe Transactional and is not part of Essential, Enhanced or Professional. To add it to another plan, or to buy it for a firm of four or more attorneys, you request a demo and get a quote.
Does Lexis Create+ do tables of authorities?
Yes. Lexis Create+ generates a table of authorities automatically in Word, applies Bluebook or state citation formats, checks each cited case with Shepard's and can attach full-text copies of the cited authorities to the filing. These are the features most litigators buy it for.
Is there a Lexis Create+ free trial?
LexisNexis does not list a self-serve trial for Create+ on its own. The product page offers a demo request, and the Lexis+ store shows Subscribe Now on the Deluxe Transactional plan rather than a trial button. Ask for a trial period in the demo, and get the end date in writing.
Is Lexis Create+ the same as Lexis for Microsoft Office?
They are different products. Lexis for Microsoft Office still appears as its own product in the LexisNexis support list, while Create+ is the current AI drafting tool built on Microsoft 365 with Protege inside it. If you have an older add-in on your account, ask your representative whether moving to Create+ changes your price.
The short answer
Lexis Create+ has one published price: $217 a month per attorney on a three year term, or $289 on one year, as part of Lexis+ Deluxe Transactional for firms of 1 to 3 attorneys. Everything else is a quote. Transactional lawyers get good value from that plan. Litigators should check what the plan leaves out, especially federal cases, before they sign, and price the research half separately. One research question runs on CaseSearch with no account.
