The short answer

Clio does not publish a current price for Clio Work. Its pricing page, read on September 25, 2026, says only that "Clio Work uses per-user pricing" and offers a free trial or a demo. The one public figure is the launch price: when Clio unveiled Clio Work at ClioCon in October 2025, it sold it as an add-on at $199 per user per month, then limited to Clio Manage subscribers. Since April 2026 Clio Work is also sold on its own. Vincent AI, the vLex assistant Clio bought for $1 billion, now ships inside Clio Work rather than with its own price.

The $199 figure is the price Clio announced at launch, reported by LawSites; Clio has not published a current Clio Work price, so treat it as the anchor for your quote, not as today's rate card. Annual totals and comparisons are our arithmetic. CaseSearch is a research tool, not legal advice.

How much does Clio Work cost?

Clio will not say on its website. The Clio Work pricing page has an Annually and Monthly toggle, two buttons (Try for free and Book a demo) and one line of pricing copy: "Clio Work uses per-user pricing. You can start with a free trial or book a demo for pricing matched to your firm's size and the way you use Clio Work, on its own or connected to Clio Manage." There is no dollar figure on the page.

The number that is on the record comes from the launch. At ClioCon in Boston in October 2025, Clio CEO Jack Newton presented Clio Work as an additional product at 199 dollars per user per month, available to Clio Manage subscribers. Above the Law and LawSites both reported that figure from the keynote. In April 2026 Clio made Clio Work available as a standalone product for solo, small and mid-sized firms, and the public price disappeared.

So a buyer walking into a Clio Work demo in 2026 should assume a starting point around 199 dollars per user per month, or 2,388 dollars per user per year, and ask what has changed. The questions that move the quote are the billing term (the toggle shows Clio offers both monthly and annual), whether you also buy Clio Manage, and how many users need Clio Work rather than the whole firm.

How much is Vincent AI now that Clio owns vLex?

Vincent AI no longer has a price of its own for a US small firm. Clio completed its 1 billion dollar acquisition of vLex in November 2025, and Vincent, the generative AI assistant vLex had sold on quotes since 2023, became the engine inside Clio Work. The vLex legal library became Clio Library. vLex never published a rate card for Vincent, and Clio has not published one either.

In practice that means a firm pricing Vincent AI in 2026 is pricing Clio Work. The Vincent by Clio mobile app for iPhone and Android, launched in April 2026, draws on matter context for Clio Work subscribers, so it follows the same subscription. Firms on an old vLex or Fastcase contract, including the Fastcase libraries many state bars still provide, should ask Clio in writing what happens to that access at renewal.

Do I need Clio Manage to use Clio Work?

No. Clio's FAQ says you can use Clio Work on its own by uploading documents directly, or connect Clio Manage to pull in matters, contacts and firm data and file finished work back to the right matter. That changed in April 2026; for its first six months Clio Work was sold only to Clio Manage subscribers.

Buying both is where Clio's packages come in. Signature Work bundles Clio Manage Signature with Clio Work, and Elite Work adds Clio Grow for intake. Clio says both are quote-based and that Signature Work "saves you over 10%" and Elite Work "over 18%" against the products bought separately. Clio Manage itself starts at 49 dollars per user per month on the Starter plan, the only Clio figure printed on its pricing page; Core, Signature and Elite are quotes.

What do you get for the Clio Work price?

Clio lists five things on the pricing page: analysis of documents, transcripts and recordings with each finding cited to its source; first drafts of summaries, timelines and arguments; research across Clio Library, which Clio describes as over 1 billion legal documents from 100+ countries checked through its citator, Cert; real-time docket alerts and search across more than 1 billion court filings through Clio Docket; and the Clio Manage connection.

The docket piece is broader than most buyers expect. Clio says Clio Docket covers federal district, appellate and bankruptcy courts, PTAB, TTAB, ITC and NLRB proceedings, and major state trial courts. Every plan includes live 24/5 support and training, and you can cancel at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the current monthly or annual term.

On quality, the only independent numbers are for Vincent AI before the acquisition. In the Vals Legal AI Report of February 2025, Vincent scored between 53.6 and 72.7 percent across five tasks and beat the lawyer baseline on three: document Q and A (72.7 against 70.1), transcript analysis (64.8 against 53.7) and document summarization (58.9 against 50.3). vLex agreed to join Vals' October 2025 legal research benchmark and then withdrew before results were published, so there is no independent research accuracy score for it.

Is Clio Work worth it for a small firm?

It is worth pricing if you already run your practice in Clio Manage and your week is full of document work: deposition transcripts to digest, discovery to summarize, contracts to review, docket activity to watch. Clio Work reads the matter you already keep in Clio, which no outside research tool can do, and the package discounts reward buying both.

It is harder to justify when the job is narrower. At the 199 dollar launch price, one user costs 2,388 dollars a year, which is more than Westlaw Edge for one state (107.25 dollars a month on a three year term) or Lexis+ Essential (114 dollars on three years), and both of those carry a mature citator. If what you need is the controlling decision on a question and confidence that it still stands, you are paying for a document and drafting workspace to get a research answer.

CaseSearch does that one job at a price printed on the page. You ask a legal question in plain English and get the on-point decisions with citations, the holding in plain language and a good-law signal, for 49 dollars a month month to month or 24 a month billed yearly, with no demo and no seat minimum. It does not analyze your matter files, draft motions or track dockets, and a firm that lives in Clio Manage may well want Clio Work for those. For the research question itself, you can start today.

What should you ask for in a Clio Work quote?

Start with the anchor: tell the Clio representative you know Clio Work launched at 199 dollars per user per month and ask for the current per-user rate on monthly and on annual billing, in writing. Ask whether the rate differs for standalone Clio Work and for Clio Work bought inside Signature Work or Elite Work, because the packages page quotes a percentage saving without a base.

Then pin down scope. Ask which Clio Library content is included for your jurisdictions, whether Clio Docket alerts and federal filings carry any per-document or per-alert charge, and whether every user in the firm must be licensed or only the lawyers who use it. Finally, ask what happens to any existing vLex, Fastcase or Vincent contract, since those products now live inside Clio.

Frequently asked

Questions buyers ask about clio work pricing

What does Clio Work cost per month?

Clio does not publish a current price. When Clio launched Clio Work at ClioCon in October 2025, it sold it as an add-on at 199 dollars per user per month for Clio Manage subscribers. Clio's pricing page now says only that Clio Work uses per-user pricing and offers a free trial or a demo.

Is there a free trial of Clio Work?

Yes. The Clio Work pricing page has a "Try for free" button next to "Book a demo". The page does not state how long the trial lasts, so ask when you sign up, and ask for the per-user quote at the same time.

How much does Vincent AI cost?

Vincent AI is now part of Clio Work, since Clio completed its acquisition of vLex in November 2025. Neither vLex nor Clio has published a separate Vincent price, so the cost of Vincent for a US firm is the cost of Clio Work, which launched at 199 dollars per user per month.

Can I buy Clio Work without Clio Manage?

Yes, since April 2026. Clio Work runs on its own with uploaded documents, or connects to Clio Manage for matter context. Buying both through the Signature Work or Elite Work package saves over 10 or over 18 percent, according to Clio, on a quote basis.

Can I cancel Clio Work anytime?

Clio says you can cancel at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of your current term, whether monthly or annual. On an annual term you pay through the end of the year you committed to.

Is Clio Work cheaper than Westlaw?

Not at the launch price. 199 dollars per user per month is more than Westlaw Edge for one state (107.25 dollars a month on a three year term) and about the price of Westlaw Edge with AI-Assisted Research at single circuit on one year (210.40 dollars). Clio Work adds matter analysis and dockets that Westlaw Edge does not.

What is a cheaper alternative to Clio Work for case law research?

For finding the decisions that control a question and checking they still stand, CaseSearch answers plain-English legal questions with cited decisions and a good-law signal for 49 dollars a month month to month or 24 billed yearly, with no demo and no seat minimum.
